The Flower District

If you are ever planning on coming to New York and you love flowers (I mean who doesn't) you must visit the flower district.  It is an entire city street dedicated to beautiful, fragrant blooms and floral supplies.  I recently ventured to my old stomping grounds (it is located a block away from The Fashion Institute of Technology, my alumni) of Chelsea to take in this bustling district once again.  Wandering into each shop filled me with such inspiration from the vibrant color palettes of the flowers, the display pieces to the heady floral aroma of the roses.  


The Flower District Details:
Location: 28th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenue)

Shops to Explore:
* 28th Street Wholesale Flower Inc. - floral supplies and ribbon
* Harvest Wholesale Flowers Inc - roses of every kind
*Jumali Garden Supply - a Martha Stewart favorite of floral supplies and flora

    So so pretty!!! I really need to take the time to explore NYC more often. Whenever I come I'm in a hurry and just do what I have to do and leave. I'm interning here now so I'll have to sight see at night...but all I want to do after work is go home, ha ha

    I've been living in NYC for quite a few years now, and I don't believe I've ever been to the flower district! How crazy is that? I'll definitely have to check it out!
