During grade school, one of my favorite crafts in art class was dying white carnations in food coloring and making them my own bespoke hue. Until I saw this post from one of my favorite blogs, I had completely forgotten about this amazing idea! When it comes to picking out flowers, I definitely stray away from 'fake' looking ones, meaning there is no way that nature could have created that blue or that green that you would find in a New York deli. I love this technique because it allows you to really adjust the depth of color from a barely there pink to a soft yellow. It has been way to long and I think that I need to try this out again.

I used to do this with wild daisies when I was a child. :) Thanks for that walk down memory lane.
