Pillows to Fill a Sofa and Rooms to Inspire

My friend Nuria absolutely adores pillows. I love going over to her apartment for the simple luxury of sinking into her couch and having all of her beautifully textured pillows surround me. What is it about pillows? I think that they make a room more inviting and make a home feel well, homier, not to mention prettier and more fashionable (but shhhh… don’t tell my boyfriend).  Pillows can bring out the color of the walls and accentuate other pieces of furniture.   I am actually in the market for pillows to accentuate my (naked) sofa. We have been sitting on it bare for nearly 7 months and the time has finally come to get inspired!

(As if you couldn't tell already, I have a slight obsession with West Elm, even more so with their design collaboraters.  I am adoring Allegra Hicks's collection, in particularly her pillows and rugs.)

**One final note - if Domino magazine were still around, I would have included way too many images, alas, I only have my hard copies to hold on to.  I will be scanning them to showcase just how much that magazine influenced my taste in all things beautiful.

Gold Star (Part Deux) - David Stark for West Elm

David Stark’s bright green and black studio is practically within an arm’s reach from where I live in Brooklyn. I kind of  want to (okay, I really want to) walk over there and tell him personally just how much I am in lust with his golden plates (they look sand-dollar inspired, no?) and bowls that he designed especially for West Elm.  This collection resembles an antique gem that I would find hidden at some fantastic estate sale. These beauties are almost too pretty to eat off of. I have got my eye on them and as of right now, I am refusing to walk by the Dumbo store, because I really hear them calling my name.  Now, if I could only get this meal and table setting out of my mind that I am picturing with those plates!

For the Fashionable Cyclist

I love bright, vibrant colors – both in my wardrobe and for our apartment, so I could not be more excited that Missoni is launching a limited (okay, 400-piece) capsule collection with Target starting September 13^th!  Normally when this (very smart) retailer teams up with a designer, it is limited to clothing only -  well, not for the Missoni family.  They are also launching a beautiful home line that I am literally salivating over.  Here are some of my favorite picks.  Be sure to act quickly, because as they say this collection departs October 22^nd.  I am going to check out the Missoni Pop-Up store tomorrow night (42nd & 6th Avenue) at Fashion's Night Out. I hope to return incredibly inspired.
