An Ode to the Flapper

One of my favorite books of all time is The Great Gatsby.  It is a heartbreaking love story at its core but it also takes place in a gilded and magical era of fashion.  I personally own two flapper-esque dressers - one vintage, another from H&M from years ago.   Topshop has created a limited-edition capsule collection of dresses, including the two flapper dresses above. Both of these dresses are calling for an invitation to an elegant soiree that will entail dancing under the glimmering stars.

Jason Wu for Target

The fashion industry has this amazing power to make you covet and even yearn for collections that are soon to hit stores. This could not be more true of the limited edition Jason Wu capsule about to hit Target in less than a month, February 5th through March 6th to be exact.  The 'American girl in Paris' inspiration could not be any more chic. The collection is just what Jason Wu is known for - feminine silhouettes and beyond gorgeous fabrics.  I will be online when the clocks strikes midnight on February 5th to make sure that I get the third look shown below -  très magnifique!

Versace for H&M

H&M's designer collections disappear faster than a blink of an eye.  Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin , just to name a few - sold out so quickly that most fashion die-hards didn't even get a glimpse of the covetable collections.  Below are some of the looks from the Versace for H&M collection that hits stores November 19th.  Items that I am completely swooning over - the corseted black layer dress and the hot pink shift with an edge.

Jason Wu for Target

Today, exciting news broke that the amazingly talented designer, Jason Wu will be doing a limited-edition collection for Target launching in stores on February 5th - so ladies mark your calendars!  Considering the fact that the Missoni collection disappeared in a blink of an eye, I hope to at least be able to get a glimpse at this collection before it sells out.   Now there is something else to look forward to in February besides Valentine's Day.

For the Fashionable Cyclist

I love bright, vibrant colors – both in my wardrobe and for our apartment, so I could not be more excited that Missoni is launching a limited (okay, 400-piece) capsule collection with Target starting September 13^th!  Normally when this (very smart) retailer teams up with a designer, it is limited to clothing only -  well, not for the Missoni family.  They are also launching a beautiful home line that I am literally salivating over.  Here are some of my favorite picks.  Be sure to act quickly, because as they say this collection departs October 22^nd.  I am going to check out the Missoni Pop-Up store tomorrow night (42nd & 6th Avenue) at Fashion's Night Out. I hope to return incredibly inspired.
