I Love This Look:: Burgundy from Head to Toe

I Love This Look: The Sweatshirt (Upgraded)

I hope that everyone had a great weekend! I owe an apology to you and this site, I am in a bit over my head right now.  Between a huge side project and some personal things, I feel like I have been a bit scattered brained and I caught quite a few errors in my posts last week, I am sorry!  I am an absolute perfectionist, but please stay with me, because what I have coming down the pipeline is good and I hope to return to my old self soon.  

In the meantime, it feels like sweatshirt weather has arrived here in New York.  Cool mornings and even cooler nights have made me feel like I need to tuck away the t-shirts and shorts until next spring.  I actually put on a pair of jeans over the weekend and it felt quite nice.  Another staple during the transition period is a sweatshirt, which has received a huge makeover in the past few season.  I love this look that upgrades a laid back look into a more sophisticated one.  Here are some of my favorites right now.

I Love This Look: Silver Linings

When it comes to metallics, I prefer gold through and through; however, after I saw this look silver was looking pretty good too.  I love the crackled texture effect. This shade is the perfect translation into fall since it acts almost as a neutral.

Happy Monday everyone! It feels good to be back, honestly being away for even a week made me truly miss blogging.  I never realized after stepping away for a week, while not technically traveling, feels rather strange. The process of blogging has been interwoven into my life so completely, when I am not doing it on a daily basis I miss it.  I hope that everyone had a great week.  Starting this off this week, sadly the last 'unofficial' week of summer, there is not better time to talk transitions. I Love This Look:: White Out

Summer, you feel amazing, don't you all agree?  Spring went entirely too fast, so I am hoping that they lazy days of summer will begin to slow things down a bit.  To start the season on a high note, we ventured to Fire Island on Saturday, which turned out to be a fantastic beach day - not a cloud in sight, just the warmth of the sun and the heavenly scent of salty air made the first day of summer wonderful.  If you are ever in the area and are looking for a tranquil beach experience, I definitely recommend traveling to the island, it feels like you are worlds away from New York City.  

Now that summer is here I am craving two things, bright prints and the opposite end of the spectrum, white.  I adore this look spotted on Victoria Tornegren, who pretty much looks effortless in anything that she wears.  Here are some of my picks to create this easy look. Anatomy of the Perfect Outfit:: Stripes, Lace & Leopard

Let me start this by saying, can you believe we are already in June? For some reason, I feared that when we returned from our honeymoon we would be greeted with cold weather, I dreamed it snowed in New York a few times while on our honeymoon.  Instead the weather feels like heaven, warm and sunny with everything in bloom.  Lately I have been about effortless and easy pieces, which is why when I came across this inspiration image it sets the tone for dressing right now - classic pieces that when paired together create an unexpected look, as featured here a masculine-inspired striped tee that has been perfectly worn in paired with a feminine lace skirt that is finished with the perfect leather accent. I Love This Look: The Full Skirt

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was quite lovely, it all ended with a bridal brunch where I got to meet so many nice people that were so giving.  I have to say that I feel like a full-fledged adult now, we have so many matching things and wonderful pieces, hello Le Creuset in Lapis, we are so blessed as a couple!  

The full skirt is one of those pieces that exudes femininity.  Tibi has mastered this silhouette over the past few seasons whether it be the paint splattered version from last season or this seasons light and airy eyelet in gorgeous pastel shades.  Here are some of my favorite looks spotted off the Fall 2014 runway and my picks to help achieve this look.  

Spring Forward: A Guide to Spring's Best Jackets

Happy Monday! I'm coming off from such a wonderful weekend, I truly felt like a bride to be! For some reason our wedding has felt like a dream but now feels so real and I cannot wait. Thank you for all of your sweet words!

I have never been more eager to tuck my winter jackets far away, deep into my closet and forget about them until next winter.  I wouldn't be lying either if I said that I would like to forget about jackets all together, but alas I am ready to lighten it up whether it be with a vintage-inspired denim jacket, a buttery leather bomber or a relaxed military style coat.   Here are some of my favorite picks for the season so far.  What is your key transition layer?

Anatomy of the Perfect Outfit {London Edition}

Happy Monday everyone! Boy do I feel renewed, just two days of sun and temperatures in the 50's set me right again. I felt like I was a tulip trying to burst through the frozen soil, I badly needed to feel warm sun on my face and luckily that finally happened.  I love New York for many reasons, one being when the weather is showing even the faintest glimpse of spring people are out in full-force, whether running, walking or brunching outside, albeit some people jump the gun wearing shorts and t-shirts when it is definitely not that type of weather yet but each to his own.  Speaking of transitional weather and clothing, I spotted this outfit outside of the London shows and just loved everything about it - the mules, the fuzzy pastel blue coat slung over her shoulders and the graphic mini skirt that pulled it all together.  Anyways only 23 days until the official start of spring, I am excited, can you tell?  I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!

In the beginning of the month I was proclaiming my love for all things white, but now I am wanting color, bright colors.  Shades so bright they are like therapy for the eyes. I have realized over the years that I don't mind the cold as much as I long for a colorful landscape as seen in all of the other seasons.  I am a person that is visually stimulated and inspired by color so the winter months can seem a bit blah in that department.  One way to change that is wearing bright and happy colors. Happy 2014! It feels good to be back, although a break was just what I needed from both work and the cyber world.  The holidays were great and went by too quickly as they always seem to do.  I am eager for the new year, many exciting things will be headed your way and it is our wedding year, so I will be posting updates too.  As we enter a new year, I typically do not make resolutions, but with each new year comes limitless possibilities and I love how we are each given a clean slate, so to speak. I Love This Look:: A Tweed Dress

Sometimes the weekends go by just too quickly, especially when you have family in town.  Thank you all for wishing me luck on finding the perfect dress, well, I found three, so I am going to have to narrow it down.  I think the big question is the look that I want since they are all so different. My mom and I made our save the dates which turned out really well, I will be sharing them soon!    One of my favorite colder weathers textures is tweed, it is a classic look, yet a cozy fabric. I Love This Look:: Chunky Knits & Skirts

I hope that everyone had a lovely weekend! We are currently still celebrating summer temperatures in October and at times it feels like sweater weather will never come and stay. I am on the fence about it anyways because after the crisp fall temperatures comes icy cold temperatures.  I often like pairing two pieces together that are seemingly opposite like leather and lace for example, another look is chunky sweaters with skirts.  This is another one of my favorite looks spotted during fashion week, where either a slim pencil or flowy skirt offsets the textured sweater.  Here are some of my picks to replicate the looks here.  

I Love This Look: Vintage Inspired Prints

I adore vintage dresses for their ladylike silhouette and colorful prints.  As I have been combing through fashion week street style I came across this gorgeous look from New York.  This dress is perfection from the billowy sleeves, colorful beetle print pattern to the mid-calf length.  I tend to go back and forth between buying brand new clothes and shopping vintage, I usually prefer the latter for the uniqueness of the piece.  In a few weeks I have my first few appointments to try on wedding dresses (I will be giving an update on my wedding plans shortly) and I am torn between new and old.  In the meantime, here are a few new beautiful dresses that have a sense of nostalgia and that I would love to have in my closet.  I hope that everyone has a fantastic week!

I Love This Look:: Biker Chic

I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend! The weather was glorious here in New York - I am just trying to wrap my head around the fact that summer is coming to an end.  As the seasons begin to merge there is one piece of clothing that is an essential, the leather jacket, particularly the biker jacket.  I adore how you can dress it down, as seen on Cara Delevingne here or dressed-up, particularly with a floral element.  I will show this Friday a few snaps from my photo shoot yesterday, it was an exciting Brooklyn experience.   I hope that everyone has a great week!

I Love This Look: Folded Dress

I hope that everyone had a great weekend!  We really enjoyed the cooler weather here in New York, it felt very refreshing compared to last week.  I am sad to report that my camera had an unfortunate accident and broke, yes, I am devastated, since my weekends typically involve photography. I am going to have to get a new camera body an expense I wasn't anticipating, luckily I have a few posts ready.  When it comes to dressing for work in late summer, easy and effortless is the way to go.  I love this look because it is so chic, yet can transition easily after work hours when dinners or happy hours are on the schedule. I Love This Look: The Maxi Dress

I hope that everyone had a great weekend and had a wonderful 4th of July here in the U.S.  I really enjoyed  the time off from this space, I really needed to unplug and just enjoy the summer.  But I missed you guys!  Summer is in full swing here in New York and the past few days have been around 90 degrees with sweltering humidity, but I am not complaining, I was cold for far too long.  You can definitely survive the heat with the right outfit and the maxi dress is the perfect solution - it is light and breezy, yet still super chic.  I love this look spotted outside the Fall couture shows currently taking place.  I hope that everyone has a great week!
