Spring Fever & Pretty Links

Happy Friday everyone, boy what a long week it has been. Why is it that some weeks linger longer than others?  Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?  We are finally getting around to getting our wedding bands (yeah!) and I am hoping to just do some relaxing.  Before I leave you here are a few beautiful things I spotted this week around the web in addition to this spring-like editorial from Harper's Bazaar UK.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I would leave Brooklyn at a minute's notice if I could stay at this rustic Italian abode

Speaking of spring fever, here are ten places in New York that can actually cure it

This Stockholm apartment is pared-down, yet beautiful

Here are a few great tips on how to better your food photography skills

Speaking of food, this recipe for Honey Buttermilk bread looks delicious with fantastic photography

The Ingenue

My jaw nearly dropped when I came across this editorial from Porter #1 - the dreamy light, the barely there pink roses and the delicate lace are honestly perfection, shot by Camilla Akrans.   Don't you just want to be transported to a magical garden that this ethereal light quality? And with this I leave you, have a wonderful weekend!

Under the Blossoms & A Little Break

I hope that everyone had a great weekend! I am going to keep this short today, since I have decided to take a one week break, given that this is a short week due to the July 4th holiday.  Find me back here next Monday!  Also, I'd love it if you would follow me over on Bloglovin' (you can follow here) since Google reader has sadly come to an end; you can also follow my adventures on Instagram, here.  Have a great week and a happy holiday if you live here in the United States! Until then, I leave you with a stunning editorial from Vogue Japan, where model Bette Franke is enveloped by an endless bunch of cherry blossoms.

La Vie en Rose

I can't believe that it is Friday already, this has flown week flew by, maybe because I feel just a bit behind from being away for a week?  Anyways, I came across this gorgeous editorial  featuring Karen Elson in the May issue of Vogue UK.  Right now, all I can do is dream about spring blooms, I am counting down the days until the cherry blossoms bloom in Central Park.  I realized while I was away in a tropical paradise just how much being among nature is good for the heart and soul.  Seeing the magnolia trees and forsythia bloom just makes me happy! I hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Peruvian Influence

Happy Friday! This week seemed very long, perhaps it was because there was a remaining winter chill in the air (Are we done yet? Please!) and because next week at this time we will be on our beach vacation! Anyways, I was flipping through the April issue of Paris Vogue and was really inspired how the entire issue was dedicated to Peru. I have never visited that county but it is on my list of places to go.  This is just one of the editorials shot by Mario Testino featuring Kate Moss. Isn't it fabulous? I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Spanish Flare

This editorial of Kate Moss shot through the lens of Mario Testino appearing in Spanish Vogue are just exquisite, framable.  The blurred lens and the matador-esque fashions are just breath-taking. I have also had my eye on her new book, Kate: The Kate Moss Book since it arrived stateside. Have you checked it out? It is amazing.

Italian Dream

Happy Friday everyone!  I am definitely glad that the weekend is almost here. Starting a new job can be a lot of things, exciting is definitely one of them but I am a also bit tired, I think I just need to get used to getting back into the routine.  I thought I'd share with you an editorial that really makes me want to jet off to Lake Como, if only for the weekend.  With that said, have a great weekend everyone!

A Baroque Portrait

I loved the baroque pieces from the Fall 2012 Dolce & Gabbana collection, however this editorial featured in How To Spend It Magazine takes it to the next level.  These photographs are absolutely works of art.  The makeup, the clothes and the floral elements are an amazing way to begin a Sunday!

A Gilded Life

I fell in love with Versailles. The grandeur, the gilding, the gardens - just too much for the mind and eye to absorb.  I visited the Palace and Gardens a few years back and ever since that moment I became intrigued by both Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette - probably two of the most disliked people in French history.  I actually wrote my final art history paper on the rise and inevitable fall of these two figures.  The fashion world, like me, has always been captivated by her storied fashions and her mile-high wigs. These photographs shot on location for Vogue Japan are breath-taking.  I could stare at them for forever.

Paris in the Fall

Paris is absolutely magical in the fall and when you combine this fact with show-stopping fall fashion, it is almost too good to be true. The looks here modeled by Oliva Palermo are making me actually look forward to adding on another layer come fall.

For the Love of the Peplum

The peplum has surfaced many times throughout fashion history - it was popular in the 80's (does anyone remember those balloon type dresses?) and then of course in the glamorous 40's, an era I secretly wished that I lived in, which is why I am beyond happy that this silhouette has come into fashion again.  The peplum is incredibly flattering, especially when paired with a fitted bottom and is ultra-feminine.   This editorial captures my love for the peplum in all of it's different forms.

Summer Nostalgia

This year, summer has come to us in full-force. The temperatures here in Manhattan are supposed to reach nearly 100 degrees today.  In order to welcome the season I thought I'd celebrate with these gorgeous nostalgic Vogue photographs. Stay cool!
