Brooklyn Stroll - Brunch and a Flower Shop

(Gruyere and leek scrambled eggs)

My favorite meal of the weekend is brunch (if I am lucky enough to have time to host it/eat it).  There is something to be said about eating softly scrambled eggs, fresh pastries and sipping endless amounts of coffee at your leisure on a Saturday or Sunday.  Last Sunday, the weather was immaculate and after lounging under the cherry blossoms, I met a friend at Colonie in Brooklyn Heights - a rustic and an oh-so-Brooklyn locale.  If you are ever in the area, you should go, I have also heard their dinner is amazing.
(We were the last of the brunch crowd so I was able to photograph the beautiful light filtering in)
(A wall filled with ferns and sea grass)

After brunch we wandered into one of my favorite flower/furniture shops, Seaport Flowers.  This shop is beyond charming, from the John Derian sofas and luxurious pillows to the brightly colored peonies and ranunculus.  They even have an outdoor space that is filled with pots and vintage garden furniture that creates a little oasis.
(One of my favorite flowers for the shape alone, the allium in the lightest blue and green vintage botles)
