{Designer to Know} Co Fall 2014

Happy Friday everyone! I am very excited for the weekend if only because the temperatures are going to rise into the mid 50's - I am chomping at the bit to have the snow melt so that I can go running outside, since the treadmill hasn't been cutting it for me lately.  Do you have anything excited planned for the weekend?  I am closing this short week out with a new fashion discovery that is just too beautiful not to share.  Have a wonderful weekend!

A major source of inspiration for me as of late is still life (seen here and here) -  from fashion to food, my eye is drawn into the moody diffusion of light and the emotion that they evoke.  The Fall 2014 presentation from Co was captured through the lens of Amanda Demme resulting in photographs that are like a Dutch painting.  The clothes while dramatic are further accentuated with a dark background and the perfect amount of filtered light which allows for the soft, cozy knits and dramatic rose patterns to take center stage.  

{Designer to Know}:: Irfé Pre-Fall 2014

Storied French fashion house Irfé has resurfaced with a compelling Pre-Fall collection full of skin-tight leather and luxurious textures.  Irfé was started in Paris in 1924 by Princess Irina Yousoupoff and today the lineage has followed suit with Olga Sorokina as the head of design.  She has propelled the house into modern times with a collection that is for the women that likes to dress with a bit of edge. I adore her use of black and white and leather boots that stretch way up the leg.  The beauty at the show was flawless -  porcelain skin was accentuated with a rich maroon lip reminiscent of a portrait painting.
