A Surprise Bridal Shower
I love creating beautiful settings where every detail is closely paid attention all the while creating an ambiance that people will truly love. I was lucky enough to be able to do this for one of my closest friends, Nuria by throwing her an intimate surprise bridal shower this past weekend (this is what kept me so busy over the past few weeks!). If there is someone that truly appreciates beautiful things, it is her, so I wanted to throw her an appropriate soiree to celebrate her wedding. I chose a gold and white theme, as she is just like me – she loves gold and added flower details, both paper and real, throughout the setting. I served one-bite appetizers that guests could nibble on while sipping cocktails.
(The dessert table consisted of vanilla cupcakes with toasted coconut and vanilla macaroons with chocolate ganache)
(The bride stopping to smell the roses)
(Light pink colored rock candy added a subtle dose of color to the dessert table)
(I created a floral ambiance by using white floral paper roses (similar here) and gold leaf garland from Caramelos, my new favorite Etsy shop)
(I purchased wooden spoons and overlayed them with gold and white washi tape)
(I attached Knot & Bow's heart stickers to skewers and put the initials of the bride and groom in gold pen)
(An appetizer I think should grace all tables - caprese skewers with basil from our garden)
(Turkey meatballs inserted with toothpicks were a quick bite, I served with a side of marinara sauce)
(Another essential - bread with Italian olives and fresh ricotta)
(Fresh ricotta from Caputo's in Brooklyn and garnished with fresh thyme, also from our garden)
(Roasted garlic ricotta tarts served in bite-size portions)
(Cucumbers cut into large slices with the seeds removed and filled with whipped goat cheese and chives)
(A new way to display drink mixers in Mason jars with chalkboard labels)
(Seltzer water in pretty packaging is also another way to add a bit of elegance to a party)
